Men's Basketball Hits The Road For A Rematch Vs. Seton Hall On Saturday

Five of Xavier's next six scheduled games are on the road.
CINCINNATI --- The Xavier Musketeers, 10-2 overall and 3-2 in the BIG EAST Conference, travel to New Jersey this weekend for a rematch with the Seton Hall Pirates, 9-5 overall and 6-2 in the BIG EAST, on Saturday afternoon.
Seton Hall leads the series 13-10, including an 85-68 win on Dec. 30 at Cintas Center, but Xavier has won the last three meetings in New Jersey. Xavier will be taking on Seton Hall at Walsh Gymnasium instead of the Prudential Center due to a NHL game conflict. SHU's last BIG EAST game on campus was March 2, 1985 vs. UConn.

• Xavier leads the BIG EAST in assists (10th in the nation at 19.1 apg.). XU is third in the BIG EAST (14th in the nation) in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.56 and second in field goal percentage (52nd in the nation at .476).
• Xavier senior Paul Scruggs leads the BIG EAST and is 18th in the nation in assists at 6.3 apg. He is second on the team (14th in BIG EAST) in scoring (13.8 ppg.) and is fourth in the BIG EAST (52nd in the nation) in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.50.
• Xavier sophomore Zach Freemantle leads the team in scoring at 15.8 ppg. (eighth in the BIG EAST) and field goal percentage (10th in the BIG EAST at .531). He is second on the team and fourth in the BIG EAST in rebounding at 7.9 rpg.
• Xavier freshman Dwon Odom is second on the team and ninth in the BIG EAST in assists at 4.2 apg. and first on the team, third in the BIG EAST and 26th in the

• Xavier freshman Colby Jones, who has started the last five games, was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Monday. Jones scored a career-high and team-high 16 points in the St. John's win and hit the game-winning 3-pointer vs. Providence.
• Xavier senior Jason Carter, who leads the team and is third in the BIG EAST in rebounding at 8.0 rpg., grabbed a Xavier career-high 16 rebounds to go with 11 points in the win over St. John's on Jan. 6.
• Xavier senior Nate Johnson, who leads the BIG EAST and is eighth in the nation in 3-point percentage (.508), is tied for fifth in the BIG EAST in 3-point field goals at 2.7 per game. Johnson hit 4-6 3-pointers vs. Providence on Jan. 10.
