Dahm's goal her first as a Musketeer; Xavier moves to 13-1-1 overall and 6-1 in BIG EAST play

CHICAGO - Xavier women's soccer extended its shutout streak to five matches, picking up a 1-0 win at DePaul on Thursday afternoon. The Musketeers moved to 13-1-1 overall and 6-1 in BIG EAST play, remaining on top of the BIG EAST standings with three matches remaining in the regular season.

Both teams being held scoreless until the final minute of the first half when Dana Dahm used a header to send a Carrie Lewis corner kick into the back of the net to give Xavier the 1-0 lead at the break. Xavier held a 9-6 advantage on shots in the first half, but the Blue Demons had a 4-3 lead on shots on-goal in the first 45 minutes.

The Musketeers battled for an insurance goal in the second half, out-shooting DePaul 7-5 overall. Xavier's defense also kept the Blue Demons without a shot on-frame in the second half to preserve the shutout, picking up the fifth-straight clean sheet for goalkeeper Olivia Jenkins and the Musketeers.

Xavier returns home to host Marquette on Sunday, October 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Corcoran Field. The Musketeers will celebrate Senior Day prior to the match with the Golden Eagles.

NOTABLE

Dana Dahm's first half goal, the game-winner, was her first as a Musketeer. She is the 11th Musketeer, and the sixth freshman, to score so far this season.
Carrie Lewis picked up an assist on Dana Dahm's goal, bringing her team-high total to five.
Xavier led 16-11 overall on shots and 7-4 on shots on frame after not allowing DePaul a shot on-goal in the second half.
Chloe Netzel led the Musketeers with five shots and Emma Marcus finished with three.
Olivia Jenkins made four saves in goal to keep the Blue Demons off the board, picking up the win to move to 13-1-1 with a ninth shutout.
Olivia Lawson, Hayley Jakovich and Grace Brauer played the full time to help preserve the clean sheet, the fifth straight shutout for the Xavier defense. The Musketeers have clocked 450 straight minutes without allowing a goal.
The win is Xavier's third-straight against the Blue Demons and the sixth-straight result for the Musketeers against DePaul, a streak that dates back to 2017.
