Seniors account for 46 of Xavier's 49 kills

CINCINNATI, OH- In their final home match of the season, Xavier won the first set, but fell to DePaul in four. In the 24-26, 25-21, 25-11, 25-15 victory, the Blue Demons clinched a spot in the BIG EAST Tournament.

Xavier is now 11-16 this season, and DePaul is 17-11.

NOTABLES

• On Senior Day, it was appropriate that 5th year Senior Moriah Hopkins led the team with 12 kills and a .250 hit percentage.

• Kelly Franxman contributed 10 kills, eight digs, and two blocks to the Xavier effort.

• Ellie Chaffee led Xavier with three blocks, and added nine kills on offense at a .286 clip.

• Norah Painter had six kills and six digs and an ace in her final home match of the season.

• Jayda Carlton saw limited action this season, but she performed in a big way on Senior Day, netting five kills at a .267 hit percentage, and one more block to cap off her storybook career.

• In the final home match of her career, Mackenzie Mangette scored a season-high four kills and a block.

• Libero Stevie Wolf led Xavier with 27 digs.
