Xavier returns to action on Friday at 7 PM in NIT Season Tip-Off third-place game
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Jack Nunge posted a career-best performance, leading the Musketeers with 24 points, but No. 25 Xavier was unable to overcome a hot-shooting Iowa State Cyclones team, falling 82-70 at Barclays Center on Wednesday evening.
Xavier moved to 4-1 on the season and will play in the third-place team of the NIT Season Tip-Off, set for 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 26.

FIRST HALF |
- Iowa State took an early lead, jumping out to a 10-3 lead after five Xavier turnovers turned into six Cyclone points.
- Xavier trailed by as many as 10 in the early going but outscored Iowa State 9-4 over the next three minutes to pull within five, 21-16, with under 10 to play.
- Iowa State maintained a multiple possession lead until Xavier used a 12-2 run, featuring seven points from Jack Nunge, to take its first lead, 30-29, with 4:33 to play before halftime.

- Xavier pulled within five, 66-61, with under eight to play, but a 7-0 Iowa State run pushed the lead back to double digits.
