Xavier Swimming at the Toyota US Open

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Six Musketeers are competing at the USA Swimming Toyota US Open this week at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Kiara Anchrum from the women's team is slated to compete in the 100 fly, while Jon Bernard, Gage Hannewyk, Andrew Martin, Joey Mullen and Christian Thomas are set to compete in a combined 11 individual events through the four-day long course meet.

THURSDAY NOTES

Andrew Martin competed in the 400 free (LC), setting a time of 4:00.99 to finish 15th in the prelims on Thursday morning to earn a spot in the B-Final of the event.
In the finals, Martin finished in 4:03.56 to place eighth in the B-Final.
Gage Hannewyk and Christian Thomas competed in the prelims of the the 50 free (LC), with Hannewyk finishing in 23.90 to place 20 and Thomas touching just behind him in 21st with a time of 23.99. Both earned a spot to compete in the C-Final of the event.
In the C-Final, Christian Thomas finished in fifth in the C-Final with a time of 23.98. Hannewyk finished in 24.26 to place seventh.

FRIDAY NOTES

Kiara Anchrum posted a time of 1:03.27 in the prelims of the women's 100 fly to finish 24th and earn a spot in the C-Final on Friday evening.
In the C-Final, Anchrum finished in 1:02.64 to place second in her heat.
Joey Mullen posted a time of 57.14 in the men's 100 fly and Gage Hannewyk finished in 57.25, placing 25th and 26th respectively. Mullen earned a spot in the C-Final while Hannewyk is an alternate in Friday's finals.
In the finals, Mullen finished seventh in heat with a time of 57.34.
Andrew Martin's time of 1:53.43 in the 200 free placed 14th and earned spot in the B-Final on Friday evening.
In the finals, Andrew Martin used a time of 1:52.32 to win the B-Final.
Jon Bernard finished the 100 breast in 1:05.11 to place 22nd in the prelims, earning a spot in tonight's C-Final.
In the C-Final, Bernard used a time of 1:05.36 to place fifth.
Christian Thomas finished the 100 back in 1:00.89 and is an alternate for Friday's finals.

SATURDAY NOTES

Jon Bernard finished the 200 back prelims in 2:13.73, placing 26th and earning a spot as an alternate for the finals.
Gage Hannewyk competed in the prelims of the 100 free, finishing in 53.05 to place 29th.
Andrew Martin set a time of 16:01.01 in the 1500 free, finishing fourth in his heat and 12th overall.
