CINCINNATI – Xavier head track and field coach Sam Burroughs has announced the hiring of Tevin-Lloyd Thompson as assistant track and field coach.
"It's great to be working with Tevin again," said Burroughs. "He knows what it takes to compete at a high level and can instill those ideals in our young men and women. As a former student-athlete in the Cincinnati area, he is familiar with the strong history of sprinters and hurdlers that have come out of the Xavier program in the past. I look forward to Tevin continuing that tradition."
Thompson most recently coached at the high school level. He was the sprints coach at North College Hill HS during the 2020 season.
The Harbour View, Jamaica, native competed at Cincinnati from 2014-17. He competed in the 4x100 meter relay and the 60-meter, 100-meter and 200-meter dashes.
He posted five top-five finishes during his outdoor track season in 2017 and had a career-best time of 10.71 in the 100-meter dash and a career-best time of 21.60 in the 200-meter dash.
Thompson graduated in the fall of 2017 from Cincinnati with a degree in human resource management.
