Kae Satterfield led four Musketeers in double figures with 16 points on Wednesday night
CHICAGO - Kae Satterfield led four Musketeers in double figures on Wednesday evening with 16 points as Xavier dropped an 83-75 road contest at No. 19 DePaul.
Xavier moved to 4-6 (1-5 BIG EAST), while DePaul improved to 13-4 (10-2 BIG EAST).
• The Musketeers hit their first four shots of the game, racing out to an early 10-5 advantage. DePaul finished the quarter by outscoring Xavier, 14-7, on 6-for-13 shooting - taking a 19-17 lead. Kae Satterfield scored six of her team-high 16 points in the opening quarter.
• DePaul hit back-to-back baskets to open the second frame before the Musketeers went on a 6-2 run to close within two points (25-23) with 5:40 on the clock. The Blue Demons ended the first half on an 11-4 run, taking a nine-point lead (36-27) into the locker room.
• Kae Satterfield led the Musketeers with eight points at the break. Three Musketeers had four rebounds as Xavier held a 28-19 advantage on the glass.
• The third quarter was the highest scoring quarter of the game for both squads. Xavier outscored DePaul, 30-29, in the frame by hitting 66.7 percent (11-for-17) of its shot attempts.
• Aaliyah Dunham, A'riana Gray and Carrie Gross combined for 22 points in the third quarter on 8-for-9 shooting.
• Xavier opened the final frame on a 5-0 run capped by a Nia Clark three pointer, closing within three points (65-62) with 7:47 left in regulation. DePaul outscored Xavier, 18-13, down the stretch to pull away for the 83-75 win. The Blue Demons were also 8-for-11 from the charity stripe in the closing eight minutes of action.
• Kae Satterfield went 5-for-8 from the floor for 16 points and was 6-for-6 from the foul line. The guard was also one of three players with a team-high seven rebounds. Satterfield has scored in double figures six times this season.
• A'riana Gray eclipsed the double-figure mark for the fifth time this season, scoring 15 points on 6-for-12 shooting. She was one of two players with a team-high six assists and one of three players with a team-high seven rebounds.
• Carrie Gross scored 11 points on 5-for-6 shooting in 15 minutes of action off the bench. Aaliyah Dunham chipped in 10 points to go along with a team-high seven rebounds and six assists. The seven rebounds were a career high for Dunham.
• Xavier committed a season-high 29 turnovers. DePaul turned the miscues into 25 points.
• Xavier hit 45.8 percent of its shot attempts, its second-highest mark this season. The Musketeers also won the battle on the glass, 46-35.
• Xavier went 15-for-18 from the foul line. The Musketeers have posted a conference-best .789 free-throw percentage (75-for-95) in BIG EAST only games this season.
