Men's Basketball Shoots To Bounce Back Vs. Butler On Sunday

CINCINNATI --- The Xavier University Musketeers, 11-4 overall and 4-4 in the BIG EAST Conference, are shooting to snap a two-game losing streak when they host the Butler University Bulldogs on Sunday night at Cintas Center.

Prior to these two losses, XU had played only one game (Jan. 30 at Butler) between Jan. 11-Feb.12 due to Covid protocols.

• Xavier leads the BIG EAST in assists (sixth in the nation at 18.6 apg.). XU is second in the BIG EAST (eighth in the nation) in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.58, second in field goal percentage (49th in the nation at .468) and field goal percentage defense (.408).
• Xavier sophomore Zach Freemantle has posted back-to-back double-doubles: career highs and game highs for scoring (30) and rebounding (15) vs. UConn on Feb. 13 and 22 points with 10 rebounds at St. John's on Feb. 16.
• Xavier's Paul Scruggs leads the BIG EAST and is 10th in the nation in assists at 6.4 apg., including a career-high 12 assists vs. UConn on Feb. 13. He is second on the team (10th in BIG EAST) in scoring (14.2 ppg.) and is third in the BIG EAST (39th in the nation) in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.46.
