Men's Basketball Heads To Providence For Wednesday BIG EAST Clash

CINCINNATI --- The Xavier University Musketeers, 12-4 overall and 5-4 in the BIG EAST Conference, play three of their final four regular season BIG EAST games on the road beginning with a game a Providence on Wednesday. XU snapped a two-game losing streak with the 63-51 win over Butler on Sunday.

Xavier defeated the Providence College Friars 74-73 on Jan. 10 at Cintas Center despite 13 PC 3-pointers. Musketeer freshman Colby Jones hit the game-winning 3-pointer before the final buzzer.

• Xavier sophomore Zach Freemantle has posted three straight double-doubles: career highs and game highs for scoring (30) and rebounding (15) vs. UConn on Feb. 13, 22 points with 10 rebounds at St. John's on Feb. 16 and 17 points and 10 rebounds vs. Butler on Feb. 21.
• Xavier's Paul Scruggs leads the BIG EAST and is 10th in the nation in assists at 6.4 apg., including a career-high 12 assists vs. UConn on Feb. 13.
