Musketeers Fall in Game Three at Baylor

WACO, Texas - Xavier baseball fell in the series finale at Baylor, 10-0, to move to 3-7 on the season.
Baylor took a 2-0 lead in the first inning and continued to build the lead throughout the game, scoring in four frames to build a 10-0 lead to take game three and complete the series sweep.
Xavier will remain in Cincinnati for its next four games, a four-game home-and-away series with the Cincinnati Bearcats. The series opens on Thursday, March 18 at 4:00 the UC Baseball Stadium. The Bearcats also host game two of the series on Friday, March 19 at at 4:00 p.m.
Xavier will officially open its home schedule on Saturday, March 20, hosting the Bearcats at Hayden Field at 2:00 p.m. The series will close out at Hayden Field on Sunday, March 21 at 1:00 p.m.

- Tyler DeMartino finished the day 1-3 at the plate and batted .455 (5-11) for his first series as a Musketeer, getting a hit in all three games against the Bears.
- Luke Stephenson (1-3) hit a fourth inning double to left field, extending his streak of reaching base safely to four games, including all three games against the Bears.
- Jared Gadd pinch hit in the top of the ninth, taking a base on balls.
- For the series with Baylor, Grant Stephenson, Jack Krumbach and Jared Cushing, as well as DeMartino, each recorded multiple hits.
- In the series with the Bears, Krumbach and Luke Franzoni each had two RBI to lead the Musketeers.

- Ethan Bosacker went a career-long 6.0 innings in his second start of the season, allowing six earned runs on 10 hits. Bosacker also had a career-best seven strikeouts and just one walk.
- Trey Schramm made his second appearance of the season, pitching the seventh inning. Schramm allowed one earned run on four hits.
- Xander Rojahn entered for the eighth, giving up three earned runs on one hit, a walk, and a pair of hit batters.
