Zach Freemantle Earns BIG EAST Conference Most Improved Player Award

Freemantle is a member of the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
CINCINNATI --- Xavier University sophomore forward Zach Freemantle, 2020-21 All-BIG EAST Second Team selection, and St. John's sophomore forward Julian Champagnie have been selected by the league coaches as the BIG EAST Conference Most Improved Player Award winners.
Freemantle, who has posted six double-doubles in scoring-rebounding in the last seven games, leads the team in scoring at 16.3 ppg., which ranks fifth in the BIG EAST. He leads the entire league in rebounding at 9.0 rpg. He also is a team leader in field goal percentage (ninth in the BIG EAST at .510) and blocked shots (12th in the BIG EAST at 0.9 bpg.).

Freemantle, who was selected to the 2020 BIG EAST All-Freshman Team, averaged 7.5 pg. and 4.3 rpg. as a freshman.
