Brian McCants Steps Down As Head Men's Golf Coach

McCants has completed five seasons at Xavier.
CINCINNATI --- Xavier University Head Men's Golf Coach Brian McCants announced today that he is stepping down after five seasons at the helm.

"The young men of this program made it easy to come to work each day," said McCants. "I'm proud of our program and believe a solid foundation is in place for the future."

Xavier, which finished seventh out of nine teams in each of the last two BIG EAST Championships, enjoyed its best finish under McCants in his first season in the fifth spot.

"We thank Brian for his efforts," said Xavier Vice President and Director of Athletics Greg Christopher. "Everyone at Xavier wishes Brian all the best moving forward. Looking ahead, we expect that our Men's Golf team will compete for BIG EAST championships."

A national search will begin immediately.
