CINCINNATI - Xavier men's golf continues its fall season at the UConn Invitational on Oct. 2-4. The three-day tournament is being held at GreatHorse in Hampden, Mass.

LAST TIME OUT

• Xavier placed 13th at the Bearcat Invitational on Sept. 20. The two-day tournament was hosted by Cincinnati at Coldstream CC.

• Xavier posted a 54-hole score of 890 (+38). Individually, Mason Witt placed tied for 44th with a score of 221 (+8) to lead the Musketeers.

• The host Bearcats won the tournament with a 54-hole score of 845 (-7). They defeated runner-up UNCG by one stroke (846, -6).

NOTABLES

• Xavier posted three top-five finishes during the 2021-22 season. The Musketeers placed fourth at both the Valparaiso Invitational (Sept. 20-21) and the NKU The Jewell (April 10-11).

• The Musketeers return all five golfers who participated in the BIG EAST Championships on April 25-27. Michael Prebles paced the squad with a 21st place finish (219, +3).

• Xavier welcomes three newcomers to the team: Carson Bellish, Zach Burton and Félix-Antoine Levasseur.

• Brian Arlinghaus enters year two at the helm of the program after being hired on June 18, 2021. He joined the Musketeers after serving as the head men's golf coach at Wright State from 2017-21. He was an assistant coach with the Raiders for two seasons (2015-17) before being promoted to head coach.
