Cole Jensen Named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week

NEW YORK - Cole Jensen was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday afternoon. Alejandro Steinwascher was also named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.

Jensen earns BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honors for the first time this season. He has also earned BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll recognition five times. Alejandro Steinwascher earns the weekly honors for the first time this season.

Both players helped No. 13 Xavier remain unbeaten on the year (9-0-5) with a 1-0-1 week in BIG EAST action (W, 3-1 vs Creighton on Oct. 12; T, 1-1 at DePaul on Oct. 15). Jensen played all 180 minutes in goal for the Musketeers with a 1.00 goals against average and 10 saves. He added a .833 saves percentage.

Jensen leads the BIG EAST in shutouts (7), goals against average (0.57) and saves percentage (.852). The Council Bluffs, Iowa, native ranks tied for ninth in the NCAA in goals against average, tied for fourth in shutouts and and fifth in saves percentage.

Steinwascher played and started in both matches, logging 135 minutes. He scored the game-winning goal in the 3-1 win vs Creighton. The forward took four shots (two shots on goal) on the week.

Xavier continues BIG EAST action on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Georgetown. First touch is set for 1 p.m. ET from Shaw Field.
