Musketeers Reverse Sweep Bulldogs; Coach Pfeffenberger Reaches 100 Career Wins

Xavier defeats Butler in five sets to hit Head Coach Christy Pfeffenberger's 100th career win
CINCINNATI - A reverse sweep to the Bulldogs from the Musketeers (3-2: 21-25, 24-26, 25-21, 25-19, 15-11) was the match needed to push Head Coach Christy Pfeffenberger to her 100th career win as leader of the Xavier volleyball program. Xavier improves to 10-4 (3-1 BIG EAST) while Butler falls to 7-9 (1-3 BIG EAST).
• Carrigan O'Reilly had a notable performance by achieving her 23rd career double-double (55 assists, 20 digs). The senior setter also laid down two block assists and nine kills for the squad.
• Outside hitter Brooklyn Cink recorded her second Xavier career double-double in the match with 18 kills and 20 digs.
• Three members of the Musketeers achieved double digits in kills. Cink (18), Maryann O'Toole (11), and Anna Taylor (15) were the driving force in the final push towards victory over the Bulldogs. Cink achieved the team high of 18 kills.
• Cink and junior middle blocker Hunter Fry were the only members of the squad to put up block solos against Butler. The squad as a whole posted 10 total block assists with junior middle blocker Delaney Hogan leading the charge.
• Five members of the Musketeers psoted double digit digs in the match with sophomore libero Lucia Corsaro racking up 28. Cink and O'Reilly each posted 20 digs with defensive specialists Alyssa Overbeck (19) and Stevie Wolf (16) pushing the team total to 112.
• Cink and Corsaro were the only members of the squad to put down a service ace against the Bulldogs and the squad limited the Bulldogs to one total for their squad.
• Fry led the team in hitting percentage with .667 - six kills on nine attempts with no errors.
• Cink took home another 21.0 points with the victory.
• Xavier will travel to the east coast to play Providence on Friday at 6 p.m. and UConn on Saturday at 5 p.m.
