Xavier falls to Providence 3-1 on the Friar's home court

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Xavier volleyball dropped a four-set match (25-22, 28-30, 20-25, 25-27) at Providence on Friday night. Xavier fell to 10-5 (3-2 BIG EAST), while Providence improved to 9-8 (1-4 BIG EAST).

NOTABLES

• Brooklyn Cink led the Musketeers with 13 kills and was the only member of the squad to hit double digits. The senior outside hitter also racked up two block assists in the match.

• Senior setter Carrigan O'Reilly added 42 assists to her career total with the match sending the number to 2,689.

• Cink and O'Reilly both recorded double-doubles against the Friars. Cink managed 13 kills and 11 digs for her third Xavier career double-double, while O'Reilly recorded 42 assists and 11 digs for her 24th career double-double.

• Cink, O'Reilly, and senior defensive specialist Alyssa Overbeck were the only members of the squad to tally a service ace against Providence.

• Six members of the squad hit double digits in digs in the four-set match. The leader was sophomore libero Lucia Corsaro with 26 digs. Junior defensive specialist Stevie Wolf put up 16 digs, including two diving digs in a single point. Overbeck tossed up 15 digs while Cink and O'Reilly both recorded 11. Senior outside hitter Maryann O'Toole followed up with 10 digs in the match.

• Graduate middle blocker Angel Robinson led the team with four block assists. She also managed nine kills against the Friars.

• Junior middle blockers Delaney Hogan and Hunter Fry were the only members of the squad to put block solos on the board.
