Jon Bernard Named BIG EAST Swimming Athlete of the Week

Bernard led the Musketeer men with three individual event wins against Denison
NEW YORK - After taking part in four event wins in last weekend's win at Denison, Xavier men's swimmer Jon Bernard was named the BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week on Wednesday.
Bernard led Xavier in individual scoring last weekend at Denison, sweeping the breast stroke events. Bernard took the 100 breast with a time of 57.55 and then the 200 breast with a time of 2:05.26. He also won the 200 IM with a time of 1:54.62.
Bernard also helped Xavier take first in the 200 medley relay. Xavier's men collected 11 event wins on the way to the 178-84 win over the Big Red.
Xavier will be in action next when the Musketeers travel to Cleveland State for the CSU Magnus Cup, running from Nov. 17-19Â at the Busbey Natatorium.
