Musketeers Top Lions, 95-63, in Non-Conference Action on Wednesday Night

Zach Freemantle joins the 1,000-point club, posts third double-double of season
CINCINNATI - Zach Freemantle posted his third double-double of the season and joined the 1,000-point club on Wednesday night, leading the Musketeers to a 95-63 win over Southeastern Louisiana at Cintas Center. The Musketeers improved to 5-3 on the year, while the Lions dropped to 4-4.
Xavier jumped out to a 31-point lead (41-10) with 3:31 left in the first half before taking a 43-19 advantage into the locker room. The Musketeers hit nearly 60 percent (17-for-29) of their shot attempts, while limiting the Lions to only a .241 clip (7-for-29).
Xavier continued the strong shooting in the second half, connecting on 50 percent of its shot attempts (19-for-38). The Musketeers led by as many as 42 points (92-50) with 2:07 on the clock before pulling away for the 95-63 victory.
• Zach Freemantle posted his third double-double of the season, scoring 15 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. The senior forward was 5-for-7 from the floor and 5-for-8 from the foul line. He added five assists, one block and one steal.
• Zach Freemantle now has 1,001 career points in four seasons for the Musketeers. He's the 58th member of the Xavier 1,000-Point Club.
• Colby Jones scored a game-high 16 points on 6-for-11 shooting. The junior guard added seven assists, four rebounds, two steals and one block.
• Souley Boum rounded out the double-figure scorers with 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting. The guard added three rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block.
• Jack Nunge chipped in six points, seven rebounds and four blocks. Jerome Hunter finished with nine points on 4-for-5 shooting to go along with three rebounds. Dieonte Miles posted seven points and five rebounds.
• The 95 points are the second-most points in a game this season by the Musketeers. Xavier now has scored 90 or more points in a game three times this year.
• The 36 made field goals are a season-high for the Musketeers. Xavier also dished out a season-high 27 assists. The Musketeers have also hit 50 percent of their shot attempts in a game six times this year.
• Xavier hit 53.7 percent (36-for-67) of its shot attempts and was 8-for-26 from behind the arc. The Musketeers were also 15-for-22 from the foul line.
• Xavier won the battle on the glass, 46-27, and scored eight more points off of turnovers (26-18). Xavier also held 52-20 advantage in points in the paint and scored 17 more fastbreak points (30-13).
• The Musketeers return to action on Saturday, Dec. 3 vs West Virginia in the BIG EAST-Big 12-Battle. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 p.m. from Cintas Center.
