• The Titans were picked to finish 11th in the Preseason Horizon League Coaches' Poll after posting a 1-29 (1-21 Horizon League) record last season. Detroit returns seven letterwinners from last year, including three starters. Junior forward Irene Murua averaged 9.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game last season.
• Detroit is led by first-year head coach Kate Achter who previously spent six seasons as the head coach at Loyola Chicago, compiling a 67-110 record. the 2008 Bowling Green graduate spent one season as an assistant coach at Xavier during the 2015-16 campaign.
• Detroit is coming off a 70-61 road loss at North Dakota on Nov. 7 in the team's season opener. Amaya Burch led the team with 15 points, while Irene Murua added a game-high 17 points to go along with six points.

• Xavier won the last meeting between the two schools, 81-73, on Nov. 25, 2020 in Detroit, Mich. Courtney Prenger scored 10 points and grabbed three rebounds in the win.
• Xavier is coming off a season-opening 87-68 victory at Miami (Ohio) on Nov. 11. The 87 points are the most in a game for Xavier since Dec. 18, 2018 vs Alabama State (W, 87-58).
• Freshman Kaleigh Addie scored a team-high 21 points on 7-for-11 shooting. She added three rebounds, two assists and one steal in 20 minutes of action off the bench.
• Mackayla Scarlett scored a career-high 19 points on 6-for-7 shooting. She added one rebound and one assist.
• Taylor Smith chipped in 13 points, five rebounds, three steals and two assists. Kaysia Woods finished with 10 points, three rebounds, one steal and one block.
• Shelby Calhoun matched her career high in rebounding with 11. The guard added six points, four assists and two steals in 22 minutes of action off the bench.
• Xavier won the battle on the glass, 39-31, and scored 20 points off of turnovers. The Musketeers forced 23 RedHawk turnovers. Xavier also scored six more fastbreak points (10-4).
• Xavier hit 49.2 percent of its shot attempts (31-for-63) and was 8-for-11 from behind the arc. Xavier finished the game 17-for-25 from the foul line.
• Aanaya Harris returns for her sophomore season after posting 9.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. She added 52 assists, 23 steals and eight blocks.
• Aanaya Harris added a .463 field-goal percentage, ranking second among BIG EAST freshmen and 14th overall. Her 9.2 points per game also ranked third among conference freshmen.
• Senior Shaila Beeler led the team in assists (117) and steals (34) last season, while adding 8.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. The guard ranked fourth in the BIG EAST in free-throw percentage (.805) and fifth in assists (4.0).
• Xavier also welcomes five newcomers: Taylor Smith (missed 2021-22 season with an injury), Nila Blackford (transfer from Kent State), Fernanda Ovalle, Bella Ward and June Ruiz Azkue.
