RIO VERDE, Ariz. - Xavier women's golf opened it spring season with a runner-up finish at the Rio Verde Invitational hosted by Western Michigan. The three-day tournament was played at Rio Verde CC (White Wing Course).
The Musketeers posted a 54-hole score of 877 (+13), ranking second in a field of 18 teams. Xavier now has five top-five finishes dating back to the spring of 2021. Freshman Kara Carter posted her third top-five finish of the 2021-22 season, pacing the Musketeers with a second-place finish (216, E).
Kennesaw State won the tournament, recording a 54-hole score of 865 (+1). Kennesaw State's Caitlyn Campbell recorded a 54-hole score of 211 (-5) to rank first in a field of 92 golfers.
