CINCINNATI - Xavier men's golf continues its spring season at the Southern Invitational on March 14-15. The two-day tournament is being held at The Falls Club in Palm Beach, Fla.

The tournament starts on Monday morning at 8:30 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT

• Xavier finished 19th at the Sea Palms Invitational on Saturday, March 5. The two-day tournament was held at Sea Palms Resort in St. Simons Island, Ga.

• The Musketeers shot a 54-hole total of 928 (+76), ranking 19th out of 19 teams. Wright State won the tournament, posting a score of 866 (+14) - eight strokes ahead of Radford (874, +22).

• Oakland's Thomas Giroux won the individual title (in a field of 104 golfers) with a 54-hole score of 205 (-8). Mason Witt paced the Musketeers with a 70th place finish, recoring a score of 230 (+17).

NOTABLES

• Brian Arlinghaus was hired as the program's new head coach on June 18, 2021. He joined the Musketeers after serving as the head men's golf coach at Wright State from 2017-21. He was an assistant coach with the Raiders for two seasons (2015-17) before being promoted to head coach.

• Xavier competed in five tournaments in the fall of 2021. The Musketeers had two top-five team finishes: tied for fourth at the Valparaiso Fall Invitational (Sept. 20-21) and tied for fifth at the Xavier Invitational (Oct. 18-19).

• Xavier had two top-10 individual finishes in the fall of 2021. Imaad Qureshi placed tied for sixth at the Xavier Invitational and Michael Prebles placed tied for eighth at the Valparaiso Fall Invitational.

• Imaad Qureshi earned BIG EAST Golfer of the Week honors on Oct. 21 for his top-10 performance at the Xavier Invitational.
