CINCINNATI - Xavier track and field opens the outdoor portion of its 2022 spring schedule on Friday, March 18 at the Blizzard Buster hosted by Miami (Ohio). The meet is slated to begin at 9 a.m. ET from George L. Rider Track.

• Xavier most recently competed at the BIG EAST Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 25-26 in Chicago, Ill. The women placed ninth, while the men took eighth in the team standings.
• The Musketeers posted 12 top-25 finishes at the championships. Individually, Courtney Klatt had the highest finish - placing 10th in the one-mile run (4:58.61).

• Xavier opened the 2019 outdoor season at the Blizzard Buster. Anna Kostarellis won the 1,500-meter run and the Musketeers posted 26 top-10 finishes at the meet.

• Xavier competed in six meets during the COVID-19 shortened 2020-21 season.
• The Musketeers had seven student-athletes post career-best finishes at the BIG EAST Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 14-15. The conference did not hold an indoor championship meet.
• The highlight of the BIG EAST Championships was the 4x800 relay team (Hannah Russell, Parker Hopkins, Abby Fioresi and Robyn Blackwell) breaking the school record in the event, posting a time of 9:04.59.

• Sam Burroughs was named the new head coach for cross country/track and field on Jan. 4, 2021. He joined the Musketeers after previously working as associate head coach at Cincinnati from 2013-20.Â
• Burroughs has over 20 years of collegiate experience. He has coached 96 individual conference champions and 45 individual NCAA qualifiers, while leading 18 teams to conference championship titles.

• Lauren Etheridge was named assistant coach for the cross country and track and field programs in August of 2021. She was previously the head cross country coach at USC Aiken from 2019-21.

• In the spring of 2021, she guided the women's cross country team to an eighth-place finish at the Peach Belt Conference Championships – the team's highest finish since 2011. She restarted the program in 2019 after a one-year hiatus (the women did not have a team in 2018).

• Xavier returns to action on March 24-26 at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C.
