Volleyball Announces Fall 2022 Schedule

Xavier opens the season on Aug. 26-27 at the Buffalo Tournament
CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball announced its 2022 fall competition schedule on Tuesday. The Musketeers open the season at the Buffalo Tournament on Aug. 26-27.

• Xavier will play 10 non-conference matches and compete in three tournaments. The Musketeers open the season at the Buffalo Tournament on Aug. 26-27, taking on UAB, Cleveland State and Buffalo. Xavier also travels to the Louisville Tournament on Sept. 9-10, taking on Lipscomb and either Purdue or Louisville.
• The Musketeers host the Xavier Tournament on Sept. 2-3. Xavier will face Eastern Michigan, Purdue Fort Wayne and Virginia during tournament action.
• Xavier plays host to crosstown rival Cincinnati on Sept. 17 at Cintas Center and travels to Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 15.
• The Musketeers take on teams from seven different conferences during non-conference action (C-USA, Horizon, MAC, A-SUN, Big Ten, ACC, AAC).
• Xavier takes on five teams that competed in postseason action last season: Louisville (NCAA Final Four), Purdue (NCAA Elite Eight), Creighton (NCAA Second Round), Butler (NIVC) and UConn (NIVC). Louisville finished the season ranked third in the AVCA Coaches Poll, while Purdue ranked sixth and Creighton ranked 22nd.
• Xavier opens its 18-match BIG EAST schedule on Friday, Sept. 23 vs Villanova. The Musketeers play four of their first five BIG EAST matches at Cintas Center.
• Xavier closes its BIG EAST schedule with back-to-back road matches at Marquette (Nov. 18) and DePaul (Nov. 19).

• The Musketeers posted an 11-18 (6-12 BIG EAST) record last season. All told, Xavier returns nine letterwinners from the 2021 roster.
• Xavier returns two-time All-BIG EAST honoree, Carrigan O'Reilly. The senior setter ranked fifth in the BIG EAST in assists per set (8.90), while ranking 21st in hitting percentage (.254).
• Xavier finished the year ranked third in the BIG EAST in digs per set (16.17). Stevie Wolf and Alyssa Overbeck ranked ninth and 11th in the conference in the category.
• The Musketeers also return 2021 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year (Spring Season), Delaney Hogan. She finished the season ranked seventh in the conference in hitting percentage (.306) and 20th in kills per set (2.42).Â
