CINCINNATI - Xavier men's golf concludes regular-season action at the Wright State Invitational on April 17-18. The two-day tournament is being held at Heatherwoode Golf Club in Springboro, Ohio.

The tournament starts on Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT

• Xavier placed fourth at the NKU The Jewell on Monday, April 11. The two-day tournament was held at Elks Run Golf Club. The Musketeers now have three top-five finishes during the 2021-22 season.

• The Musketeers shot a 36-hole total of 594 (+26), ranking fourth (out of 21 teams). Youngstown State won the tournament, posting a 36-hole score of 578 (+10).

• Freshman Justin Gabbard had the top finish for the Musketeers, placing fifth with a score 145 (+3). Chicago State's Camron Jones placed first in the individual standings (in a field of 78 golfers) with a 36-hole score of 140 (-2).

NOTABLES

• Brian Arlinghaus was hired as the program's new head coach on June 18, 2021. He joined the Musketeers after serving as the head men's golf coach at Wright State from 2017-21. He was an assistant coach with the Raiders for two seasons (2015-17) before being promoted to head coach.

• Xavier competed in five tournaments in the fall of 2021. The Musketeers had two top-five team finishes: tied for fourth at the Valparaiso Fall Invitational (Sept. 20-21) and tied for fifth at the Xavier Invitational (Oct. 18-19).

• Xavier had two top-10 individual finishes in the fall of 2021. Imaad Qureshi placed tied for sixth at the Xavier Invitational and Michael Prebles placed tied for eighth at the Valparaiso Fall Invitational.

• Imaad Qureshi earned BIG EAST Golfer of the Week honors on Oct. 21 for his top-10 performance at the Xavier Invitational.
