CINCINNATI - Xavier men's golf competes at the BIG EAST Championships on April 25-27 in Pine Mountain, Ga. The three-day tournament is being held at Callaway Resort Mountain View Course.

The tournament starts on Monday morning at 8:20 a.m.

TOURNAMENT HISTORY

• Xavier is looking for its first conference title since 2005. All told, the Musketeers won four conference titles in the Atlantic-10 Conference.

• Garrett Wood is Xavier's lone individual medalist in BIG EAST action (joined in 2013), winning the title in 2019. All told, Xavier has had a golfer win the individual title eight times since 1998.

• Xavier's highest finish at the BIG EAST Championships was in 2016. The Musketeers placed second with a score of 891 (+27).

NOTABLES

• Xavier competed in six tournaments during the spring season. The Musketeers highest finish was fourth at the NKU The Jewell on April 11. The Musketeers most recently competed at the Wright State Invitational on April 17, placing seventh in a weather-shortened tournament.

• Xavier enters the tournament ranked ninth in the BIG EAST GolfStat rankings, averaging a score of 299.46 in 10 tournaments this season. Individually, Michael Prebles ranks 34th in the BIG EAST GolfStat rankings with an average score of 74.96.

• Brian Arlinghaus was hired as the program's new head coach on June 18, 2021. He joined the Musketeers after serving as the head men's golf coach at Wright State from 2017-21. He was an assistant coach with the Raiders for two seasons (2015-17) before being promoted to head coach.

• Xavier competed in five tournaments in the fall of 2021. The Musketeers had two top-five team finishes: tied for fourth at the Valparaiso Fall Invitational (Sept. 20-21) and tied for fifth at the Xavier Invitational (Oct. 18-19).

• Xavier had two top-10 individual finishes in the fall of 2021. Imaad Qureshi placed tied for sixth at the Xavier Invitational and Michael Prebles placed tied for eighth at the Valparaiso Fall Invitational.

• Imaad Qureshi earned BIG EAST Golfer of the Week honors on Oct. 21 for his top-10 performance at the Xavier Invitational.

MEN'S REGIONALS
May 16-18 – Six regionals – three of which will have 13 teams and 10 individuals and three will have 14 teams and five individuals. The top five teams (30 teams total) and the low individual not on an advancing team (six individuals total) from each regional site will advance to play in the championships at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
