
Rachel Butler Breaks School Record at Penn Relays

She set the school record in the 10,000-meter run on Thursday night
PHILADELPHIA - Rachel Butler set the school record in the 10,000-meter run on Thursday night at the Penn Relays at Franklin Field.
She placed fourth in the race, posting a time of 34:07.02. She was racing in the 10,000-meter run at a track meet for the first time in her career.
The previous record was held by Clare Fischer who posted a time of 34:21.20 at the 2014 Mt. SAC Relays.
Butler sets a school record in a race for the second time in as many weeks. In only the second 5,000-meter race of her career, she posted a school-record time of 16:19.82 at the Virginia Challenge on April 22. The previous record was set by Ashley Vincent in 2012 at the Stanford Invitational (16:34.74).
Butler returns to action at the BIG EAST Championships on May 13-14 in Storrs, Conn.
