Luke Franzoni Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Senior infielder breaks Xavier career home runs record
NEW YORK - After using three home runs last week to set a new Xavier record, senior infielder Luke Franzoni was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced on Monday.
Franzoni had a team-high matching six hits with a .429 (6-14) average at the plate this week, helping the Musketeers pick up a pair of wins in the four-game week. Franzoni, originally from Robbinsville, N.J., had a team-best 1.143 slugging percentage, with three home runs among his six hits, helping him break Xavier's all-time career home run record. He also led the Musketeers' every-day players with a .556 on-base percentage.
In Xavier's win over Michigan, Franzoni went 2-4, driving in two RBI and scoring three runs in Xavier's 10-3 win. In the series opening win over UConn, Franzoni collected his 45th home run of his Xavier career, a new Xavier record, and helped Xavier to a 7-2 win.
Franzoni collected three more hits in the final two games of the weekend, including adding another home run to his single season and career home run totals, both school records.
This is Franzoni's third Weekly Honor Roll honor of the season.
