Andrew Walker and Jack Lynch Both Earn a Spot on Final BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Walker led the Musketeers with a .583 average at the plate last week; Lynch pitched 5.0 hitless innings in shutout win against St. John's.
NEW YORK - Following a 4-0 week to close out the regular season, a pair of Musketeers, Jack Lynch and Andrew Walker, were named to the final BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll of the season, the league announced on Monday.
Walker, a senior outfielder from Pittsburgh, Pa., led the Musketeers with a .583 (7-12) average at the plate last week, with a pair of walks. Walker also led the Musketeers in runs scored (6), matched for team high in stolen bases (3) and led Xavier's everyday players in slugging percentage (.750) and on-base percentage (.688). Walker went 3-for-3 at the plate in Xavier's 18-7 win over NKU, scoring a pair of runs and driving in an RBI. In the series opener against St. John's, Walker recorded a pair of hits (2-3) drove in an RBI and scored a run to help Xavier to a 3-0 win, and then in Friday's match-up, had another multi-hit game (2-3) and scored three times in the 9-3 win.

Lynch, a junior LHP from Dallas, Texas, did not allow a hit in 5.0 innings of work in his lone appearance of the week, combining with Luke Bell for a complete game shutout in Xavier's 3-0 win over St. John's. Lynch struck out four and walked just one, the lone baserunner in the final five innings of the game, and kept the Red Storm off the base paths for the final three innings. Lynch picked up the win, his team-high ninth of the season, to move to 9-0 on the season.
Xavier moves on to post-season play this week, co-hosting the BIG EAST Tournament at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio. The No. 3 seeded Musketeers open up play on Thursday, May 26 against the No. 2 Creighton at approximately 6:30 p.m.
