Women's Soccer Closes out Non-Conference with Win Over Bowling Green

CINCINNATIÂ Â - Chloe Netzel's third goal of the season helped Xavier women's soccer wrap up the non-league schedule with a win, topping Bowling Green 1-0 at Corcoran Field on Friday evening. The Musketeers moved to 6-2-1 on the season.
The Musketeers held the advantage early, taking a lead in the 13th minute on Netzel's goal, a shot from outside the box to the upper left corner. Xavier's offense controlled the ball most of the first half, taking a 13-1 advantage on shots into halftime, including nine shots on-goal.Â
In the second half, Bowling Green was able to put more pressure on the Musketeers, taking four shots after the break and earning a corner in the final minutes of the game, but only had one look on frame for the match. Xavier finished with a 21-5 advantage overall on shots, with a 11-1 advantage on shots on-frame.
The Musketeers head out on the road to start BIG EAST play, traveling to Butler to take on the Bulldogs on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 7:00 p.m.
