Xavier battled but fell to Virginia in a 3-2 match
CINCINNATI - The Musketeers took the Cavaliers to five sets (25-17, 27-25, 25-27, 16-25, 13-15) in volleyball's home opener. Xavier now moves 3-1 on the year, while Virginia improved to 3-1.

• Senior outside hitter Brooklyn Cink achieved a team-high 17 kills. Cink also tallied up one of five service aces for the Musketeers.
• Sophomore libero Lucia Corsaro tallied up 19 digs for the Musketeers while junior Stevie Wolf added another 17. The squad as a whole racked up 78 digs with 14 coming from O'Reilly.
• Junior middle blocker Delaney Hogan added six total blocks (four assists, two block solo). Hogan also posted two service aces and eight kills.
• Senior setter Carrigan O'Reilly added 29 assists, increasing her career total to 2,325 (10th in school history). She added 14 digs for her 20th career double-double.
• Hogan and O'Reilly partnered up for four block assists - the only block assists from the squad in the match.
• Graduate middle blocker Angel Robinson chipped in seven kills and one block.
• Emma Grace was one of two players with 10 or more kills as the outside hitter finished with 11. The sophomore added seven digs.
• Xavier will take on Eastern Michigan at 12:30 p.m. and Purdue Fort Wayne at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
