Women's Soccer Adds Transfer Samantha Wiehe

Midfielder spent two season with Houston Cougars
CINCINNATI – Xavier women's soccer head coach Nate Lie announced the addition of transfer Samantha Wiehe to the roster. Wiehe, a midfielder from Northfield, Ohio, played two seasons at Houston, scoring five goals and dishing out five assists during her time with the Cougars.
Last season, Wiehe appeared in all 16 matches for Houston, making 15 starts. She finished second on the squad in points, ending the season with nine points on three goals, including one game-winner, and three assists. Following the season, she earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District recognition.
As a freshman in 2021, she made 19 appearances, including 13 starts, collecting four points on two goals, both game winners. Following the season, Wiehe was named to the American All-Conference Rookie Team.
Prior to Houston, Wiehe played for Nordonia High School where she helped the squad reached the district quarterfinals three times (2017-2019) and semifinals once (2020). She recorded 85 goals and 47 assists for her prep career, earning team captain twice and team MVP three times. She was named all-league all four years of high school and earned 2020 conference player of the year honors.
