Jonny Mennell Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK - Jonny Mennell was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon. The sophomore goalkeeper earns the honors for the second time in as many weeks.

The Asheville, N.C., native helped Xavier post a scoreless draw vs No. 3 Akron on Saturday, Oct. 14. He made five saves between the pipes vs the Zips.

Xavier held Akron scoreless for only the second time this season (also held scoreless vs Notre Dame on Sept. 19). Mennell now has a 1.00 goals against average, ranking tied for second in the BIG EAST.

Mennell and the Musketeers return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 18 in the team's regular-season home finale vs Butler. First touch is set for 7 p.m. from Corcoran Field.
