Volleyball Falls to St. John's in Three-Set Match

The Musketeers fall in three at home on Friday night
CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball fell in three sets (17-25, 21-25, 13-25) to St. John's on Friday night.
The Musketeers move to 10-6 (3-2 BIG EAST) on the season and the Red Storm advance to 12-5 (4-1 BIG EAST).
• Delaney Hogan, the senior middle blocker, led the Musketeers' offense and defense with eight kills, the team-high, hitting .438 in the match, and totaled seven block assists, a season-high.
• Graduate outside hitter Brooklyn Cink tied Hogan's team-high eight kills with redshirt junior outside hitter Anna Taylor contributing five.
• The service efforts were led by junior libero Lucia Corsaro with two service aces and was followed by Cink and junior setter Logan Flaugh with one each.
• Carrigan O'Reilly, the graduate setter, recorded 15 assists, four digs, and three kills in the three-set match, raising her career total for assists to 3,847.
• Hogan led the Musketeers' blocking presence with her seven assists. Cink was the only member of the squad to tally a block solo while contributing two block assists alongside Taylor. O'Reilly followed Hogan's seven assists with three of her own with redshirt junior middle blocker Sarah Stevens and sophomore outside hitter Caroline Speelman recording one apiece.
• Grace and junior setter Logan Flaugh combined for four service aces, registering two apiece.
• Corsaro's team-high eight digs was followed by Cink and senior libero Stevie Wolf with five each.
• The Musketeers totaled 28 kills, 26 assists, 30 digs, 16 block assists, one block solo and four service aces in the three-set match.
Xavier continues the weekend at home with Seton Hall on Saturday night with a 6 p.m. first serve.
