Woods Hits Career Milestone in Loss to James Madison

The junior guard finished with a career-high 17 points and five 3-pointers
CINCINNATI - Kaysia Woods scored a career-high 17 points on Saturday night as the Musketeers dropped their home opener, 81-54, vs James Madison.
The Musketeers moved to 0-2 on the year, while the Dukes improved to 2-0.
• Kaysia Woods scored a career-high 17 points on 6-for-14 shooting. She made a career-high five 3-pointers and added a team-high four assists. The guard also pulled down three rebounds.
• Mackayla Scarlett chipped in 15 points on 5-for-17 shooting. She added five rebounds and one assist.
• Nila Blackford finished with eight points and a team-high seven rebounds. The forward added two assists and one block.
• Xavier posted a .351 field-goal percentage (20-for-57) and went 6-for-28 from behind the arc. The Musketeers were also 8-for-17 from the foul line.
• James Madison won the battle on the glass, 41-22, and score 17 more second-chance points (18-1). The Dukes also scored 12 more fastbreak points (15-3) and held a 42-22 advantage in points in the paint.
• Xavier travels to Old Dominion on Tuesday, Nov. 14. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 p.m. from Chartway Arena.
