Volleyball Falls to DePaul in First Round of BIG EAST Tournament

Xavier concludes the season at 18-12 (11-7 BIG EAST)
MILWAUKEE, Wisc. - Xavier volleyball fell to DePaul 1-3 ( 25-21, 22-25, 18-25, 22-25) in the first round of the 2023 BIG EAST Tournament on Wednesday evening.
The Musketeers conclude the 2023 season at 18-12 (11-7 BIG EAST) and the Blue Demons advance to 17-13 (9-9 BIG EAST).
• Emma Grace notched her 10th career double-double with her team-high 18 kills and 12 digs. The redshirt sophomore outside hitter saw 26 perfect receptions and a .273 clip in the match.
• Delaney Hogan, the senior middle blocker, tallied 12 kills on the match-high hitting percentage of .423, her 14th match of the season hitting .400 or higher. Hogan was one of two Musketeers to post a block solo and she also recorded one block solo.
• Sophomore outside hitter Caroline Speelman was the third Musketeer to reach double-digit kills with her 10 total on a .250 clip.
• Sarah Stevens, the redshirt junior middle blocker, led the defense at the net for the Musketeers, recording the match-high of three block assists and one block solo, coming to four total blocks.
• Carrigan O'Reilly tallied 44 assists at 11 assists per set, the match-high against the Blue Demons, notching one additional block assist and four additional kills. The graduate setter reached 48 career double-doubles with the 44 assists and 15 digs.
• Five Musketeers reached double-digit digs in the match. O'Reilly led with her 15 and was followed by junior defensive specialist Lucia Corsaro with 13, Grace with 12, and junior setter Logan Flaugh and senior libero Stevie Wolf with 10 apiece.
• Corsaro saw the match-high of 34 total receptions on just one error, a season high in receptions for the defensive specialist.
• Flaugh matched the match-high of two service aces to be follow by Wolf and Corsaro with one apiece.
• The Musketeers totaled 60 kills, 56 assists, 64 digs, eight block assists, two block solos, and four service aces in the four-set match.
