Volleyball Introduces 2023 Signing Class

Xavier will add five to the 2024 roster
CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball introduces the 2023 signing class, which will add five new Musketeers to the roster for the 2024Â season.

Charlotte Moriarty is an outside hitter from La Grange, Kentucky where she attends Assumption High School.
At Assumption, Moriarty is a three-year varsity volleyball athlete. She led her team to a KHSAA State Championship in 2023, three consecutive KHSAA District Championships and two consecutive KHSAA Regional Championships. Moriarty has earned a Region 7 Player of the Year selection, a Gatorade Player of the Year nomination, a Preseason All-American selection, a KVCA Honorable Mention, a First Team All-State selection, and two All-Tournament selections. During her time in club volleyball, she was named a MaxPreps Underclassman First Team All-American and received a Junior Player of the Year nomination.
Moriarty plans on majoring in exercise science at Xavier. She is the daughter of Bill and Sally Moriarty, and has two siblings, Will and Molly. Her father, Bill, played baseball for the United States Naval Academy, and her brother, Will, played baseball for Northwest Florida State College and University of Louisiana Lafayette.

McKinley Boehm is a middle blocker from South Jordan, Utah where she attends Herriman High School.
At Herriman, Boehm is a four-year varsity volleyball athlete. Boehm has earned a 2021 All-Region Second Team selection, a 2022 All-Region First Team selection, and a 2022 All-State Third Team selection during her time in high school.
Boehm is currently undecided in her major at Xavier. She is the daughter of Jennifer and Michael Boehm, and has two siblings, Natalie and Brody.Â

Ila DeMutis is a libero and defensive specialist from Windermere, Florida where she attends The First Academy.
At The First Academy, DeMutis is a five-year varsity volleyball athlete. She has also participated in three years of varsity beach volleyball, one year of varsity basketball, and one year of varsity track. DeMutis led her former school, Winderemere Preparatory School, to two consecutive league championships. During her time in club volleyball, DeMutis was a 2022 Prep Volleyball All-Tournament selection at Big South and a 2021 Under Armor All-American Nominee.
DeMutis plans on majoring in sport marketing at Xavier. She is the daughter of Shannon Hart and Guy DeMutis, and has one sibling, Brinleigh. Her father, Guy, played collegiate baseball prior to training with the Cincinnati Reds.

Kelsey Niesen is a libero and defensive specialist from Cincinnati, Ohio where she attends Roger Bacon High School.
At Roger Bacon, Niesen is a four-year varsity volleyball athlete. She has accumulated over 1000 career digs and kills with over 190 aces, 50 total blocks, and 30 assists. Niesen is a four-time Sectional and District Champion and led her team to a Regional Championship and a State Second Place finish in 2021. She has earned three First Team All-League (MVC) selections, three District 16 Division II First Team selections, and was MVC Player of the Year in 2023.
Niesen plans on majoring in psychology at Xavier. She is the daughter of Ann and Frank Niesen, and has five siblings, Cody, Kasey, Courtney, Karly, and Cammy. Sister, Kasey, played volleyball at Thomas More, sister, Courtney, played volleyball at Urbana and Wingate, sister, Karly, played volleyball for Wheeling, and sister, Cammy, currently plays volleyball for Ole Miss.

Catherine Flaharty is an outside hitter and right side from Saline, Michigan where she attends Saline High School.
At Saline, Flaharty is a three-year varsity volleyball athlete. She has accumulated over 750 career kills and 100 career blocks. Flaharty has led her high school program to three consecutive MHSAA District Championships, a 2022 MHSAA Regional Championship, and a 2022 MHSAA State Semifinalist finish and is a two-time All-Conference selection.
Flaharty plans on majoring in finance at Xavier. She is the daughter of Carleigh and JP Flaharty, and has two siblings, Nora and Colin.
