Fernanda Ovalle Named to BIG EAST All-Freshman Team

The guard averages 8.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game
NEW YORK - Xavier women's basketball player Fernanda Ovalle was named to BIG EAST All-Freshman Team on Thursday, March 2.
Ovalle is the the first Musketeers to earn the honors since Aaliyah Dunham in 2018. She's also the first Xavier player to earn postseason all-conference honors since 2020 (A'riana Gray).
The Santiago, Chile, native leads all BIG EAST freshmen in rebounding (4.4), while ranking second in scoring (8.5). She also ranks second in total blocks (10), third in total assists (47), fourth in total steals (19) and fifth in field-goal percentage (.429).
