Four Musketeers Earn Spots On Postseason Men's Basketball All-BIG EAST Teams

Boum, Jones, Nunge and Claude all earn honors.
NEW YORK --- The BIG EAST Conference announced the Men's Basketball All-BIG EAST teams today and four Xavier players earned spots on the honor squads. Graduate student Souley Boum is on the All-BIG EAST First Team, junior Colby Jones is on the Second Team and graduate student Jack Nunge earned All-BIG EAST Honorable Mention. Desmond Claude is on the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team.
The league's head coaches select the all-conference squads and were not permitted to vote for their own players.
Boum leads Xavier and is second in the BIG EAST in scoring at 16.8 ppg., while ranking second on the team and tied for sixth in the league in assists at 4.5 apg. Boum is third in the BIG EAST in 3-point percentage at 42.2 percent.
Jones, who was named BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week earlier today, is second on the team in scoring at 15.3 ppg., which ranks eighth in the BIG EAST. Jones leads Xavier and is fifth in the BIG EAST in assists at 4.6 apg.
Nunge leads Xavier in rebounding at 7.7 rpg., which ranks fourth in the BIG EAST. He is third on the team and 14th in the BIG EAST scoring at 14.0 ppg.
Claude has emerged as one of the top reserves in the BIG EAST and has averaged 20.7 minutes per games in BIG EAST play.
No. 2 seed Xavier, 23-8 overall and 15-5 in BIG EAST regular season play, opens BIG EAST Tournament play on Thursday in the quarterfinals at 7 p.m. against the winner of the first round game between DePaul and Seton Hall.
