Women's Golf Wins Fourth Straight BIG EAST Championship

HARDEEVLIEE, S.C. - Xavier won the 2023 BIG EAST Women's Golf Championship Presented by JEEP on Wednesday. The three-day tournament was held at Riverton Pointe Golf Course.

Xavier wins its fourth straight BIG EAST Championship, becoming the first team in conference history to win four titles in a row. The Musketeers are tied for second with Louisville for the most conference titles (4). Notre Dame leads the BIG EAST with five championships.

Xavier hit 286 (-2) on Wednesday, the lowest team score in any round at the tournament. The Musketeers finished with a 54-hole score of 893 (+29), winning the championship by 15 strokes. Georgetown finished second with a score of 908 (+44).

NOTABLES

• Xavier's 15-stroke victory is the largest stroke victory since 2018 (Seton Hall defeated Georgetown by 20 strokes; 923-903).

• Abby Kiefer, Emma McMyler and Madison Reemsnyder earned BIG EAST All-Tournament Team honors. Kiefer and McMyler earn the honors for the second time in as many seasons. Reemsnyder earns the honors for the first time in her career.

• Madison Reemsnyder placed tied for fourth at the BIG EAST Championships, the second-highest finish of the season for the freshman golfer. She now has three top-10 finishes this season.

• Emma McMyler placed tied for fourth at the BIG EAST Championships, her 18th career top-10 finish. The San Antonio, Texas, native has seven top-five finishes this season.

• Abby Kiefer placed third at the BIG EAST Championships, her highest finish of the 2022-23 season. She now has five career top-10 finishes.

• Xavier has finished fifth or better in all nine tournaments during the 2022-23 season. The Musketeers have won three tournaments this season to go along with two runner-up finishes. The Musketeers have 13 top-two finishes dating back to the spring of 2021 (eighth tournament titles; five runner-up finishes).
