Musketeers looking for third-straight NCAA appearance
CINCINNATI – Xavier women's soccer announced the schedule for Fall 2023 this week, opening up play with an exhibition at Michigan before officially getting the season underway on August 17, hosting Northeastern at Corcoran Field at 7:00 p.m.
Xavier will face teams from seven conferences in the non-conference portion of the schedule and take on four squads who took part in the 2022 NCAA Championships.
The Musketeers are coming off a 14-4-5 season in 2022, going 6-0-4 in BIG EAST play to finish second in the league standings, marking the first unbeaten conference slate in program history. Xavier earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship for a second-straight season, the program's fifth NCAA bid overall. In the NCAA Tournament, Xavier advanced for the second time in program history with a 4-1 double overtime win at Tennessee in the first round.
Xavier returns a trio of all-conference honorees from last season, with goalkeeper Maria Galley and defender Natalie Bain earning All-BIG EAST Second Team and All-Freshman Team honors, and forward Regan Dancer picking up a nod to the All-Freshman squad.
The Musketeers return 19 letterwinners in all from last season, and added a pair of transfers in addition to a 10-person freshman class for the 2023 season.

- Xavier fell 3-2 at Corcoran Field in the last match between the two programs, in 2022, with Ella Rogers and Emma Flick each scoring for the Musketeers.

- The Musketeers are 3-7-1 all-time against the Red Storm.
- Xavier played the Red Storm to a 0-0 draw in Queens during the 2022 regular season, then topped St. John's 3-1 in double overtime in the Semifinals of the BIG EAST Championship. Emma Flick scored the equalizer in the 79th minute to force overtime. Molly McLaughlin knocked in the game-winner in the 95th minute and Chloe Netzel scored the third tally in the 98th minute.
