Coach Chambers Announces Inaugural Signing Class

The Musketeers welcome seven newcomers to the 2023-24 roster
CINCINNATI - Xavier head women's basketball coach Billi Chambers announced her inaugural signing class on Wednesday afternoon.
The seven-person class joins the Musketeers for the 2023-24 season.
Loren Christie - 6-3 - F - London, England (Barking Abbey/Buffalo/San Francisco)
Júlia Garcia - 5-4 - G - Barcelona, Spain (Ipsi)
Lika Kvirkvelia - 6-4 - C - Kobuleti, Georgia (Tbilisi Public School)
Daniela López - 5-8 - G - Barcelona, Spain (INS Pineda de Mar/Escola Aloc)
Aizhanique Mayo - 5-9 - G - Bridgeport, Conn. (Notre Dame HS/Marquette/Iona)
Tae'lor Purvis - 5-7 - G - Houston, Texas (Hightower/Houston)
Aby Shubert - 5-8 - G - Kasson, Minn. (Kasson-Mantorville)
Helped lead San Francisco to a 19-13 (9-9 WCC) record in 2022-23… helped the Dons advance to the WNIT in 2022-23… averaged 4.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per game… played in 28 games… ranked second in the team in blocks with 17… played at Buffalo from 2019-22… competed in 76 games with 30 starts for the Bulls… averaged 4.0 points and 4.1 rebounds per game at Buffalo… added 51 blocks, 16 assists and 12 steals… helped the Bulls post a 59-30 (36-19 MAC) record during her time on the team… helped the Bulls capture the 2022 MAC Championship and advance to the NCAA Tournament.

Loren has been a great addition to our roster this summer. Her experience in a championship program at Buffalo and her maturity has been key in setting the tone for us, culturally. She is a dynamic player who will fill multiple positions within our offensive system. Her ability to work in the post area as well as step out to shoot the three - and attack from the perimeter - will help open up scoring opportunities.
Played for Femení Sant Adrià and Barça cbs teams… averaged 10.0 points per game last season.

Julia is a fiery lead guard who has always commanded her team with poise and confidence. She has a high IQ and knows how to put her teammates in positions to be successful, offensively. Additionally, Julia is a great shooter and elite defender who will make a great impact on how we want to play. We expect her leadership in the point guard position to carry over to our program immediately.
Led Georgia to the FIBA U18 Division C Championship in 2022… was named to the All-Star 5 FIBA U18 Division C Team… averaged 16.8 points and 20.5 rebounds per game at the FIBA U18 Division C Championships.

Lika is a force in the paint and will come in ready to battle. She is a strong, physical inside presence who has a game that stretches to the three-point line. Her experience on the national stage has her prepared to come into the program to compete immediately.
Played for the following club teams: UER Pineda de Mar, Femení Maresme and UE Mataró… led UE Mataró to a 19-9 record… averaged 11.7 points per game in 28 games during the 2022-23 season… led her Catalan Team to a Spanish Regional Championship.

Daniela brings great size to our roster at the guard position. She can shoot the three, post up smaller guards and takes great pride in disrupting the game defensively. She is a passionate competitor who has a huge upside to her game.
Was named the 2020-21 MaxPreps Connecticut High School Player of the Year… was a first team all-state honoree… averaged 20.4 points, 7.0 assists and 6.8 rebounds per game in 2019-20… added 5.0 steals per game… earned first team all-conference honors in 2019-20… was named MVP of the South-West Conference Championship game… posted a .440 field-goal percentage and a .470 three-point field-goal percentage… led Notre Dame Catholic HS to a 58-3 overall record from 2018-21… helped Notre Dame Catholic HS win back-to-back conference titles from 2019-21.

Nique is a special player who can score at all three levels. She has the potential to make an immediate impact offensively in the style we want to play. Her role will be determined once we receive final determination on her transfer waiver process.
Played in 51 games with eight starts at Houston from 2020-23… recorded 63 points, 48 rebounds, 54 assists and 37 steals over three seasons… helped the Cougars post a 50-40 (29-19 AAC) record over three seasons with two WNIT Appearances.

Tae'lor brings quickness and athleticism to our roster on both sides of the floor. She moves great within our actions which will help create scoring opportunities for both her and her teammates. On the defensive side of the ball she is an absolute nightmare. She loves to defend and her mindset in this area will help set the tone for our defensive identity. Her growth this summer has been exciting to watch.
Was a five-year varsity starter... averaged 21 points per game as a junior with a .440 three-point field-goal percentage... was a four-year All-Hiawatha Valley League honoree... was a three-time All-MSHSL Honorable Mention Team selection... played for the Minnesota Fury AAU Team from 2020-22 and the Minnesota Stars AAU Team from 2016-20... ranked as the No. 7 player in the 2023 class in the state of Minnesota... helped the Minnesota Fury to a state runner-up finish in 2021 and a fourth-place finish at UAA in 2021.

Aby has had a solid summer, finishing up her rehab strongly and adapting to the college level very quickly. Her mentality and work ethic is high level and we expect contributions from her right away. She can shoot from anywhere in the gym and will immediately increase our offensive output.
