The forward scored Xavier's game-winning goal on Sunday night vs Oakland
NEW YORK - Seydou Diop was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Monday afternoon. He helped the Musketeers post a 1-0-1 record last week.
The Dakar, Senegal, native scored the game-wining goal in Xavier's 2-1 win over Oakland on Sunday, Aug. 29. The forward found the back of the net via a penalty kick in the 68th minute.
Diop came off the bench in both matches last week, logging a total of 65 minutes. He took three shots and two shots on goal.
Diop and the Musketeers return to action on Friday, Sept. 1 at No. 11 Marshall. First touch is set for 7:15 p.m. from Hoops Family Field.
