The Musketeers down the Norse, 3-1

CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball opened the final weekend of nonconference action with a 3-1 (25-18, 20-25, 26-24, 25-15) victory over Northern Kentucky.

The Musketeers move to 6-4 (0-0 BIG EAST) on the season and the Norse fall to 5-5 (0-0 Horizon League).

Xavier extends the win streak over Northern Kentucky to eight matches.

NOTABLES

• Four Musketeers totaled 10 or more kills against Northern Kentucky. Graduate outside hitter Brooklyn Cink tallied the match-high with 13 and was followed by redshirt junior middle blocker Sarah Stevens, redshirt sophomore outside hitter Anna Taylor, and senior middle blocker Delaney Hogan with 10 apiece.

• Stevens led the defense with four block assists, a career high, and one block solo while also posting the match-high hitting percentage of .500.

• Following Stevens on defense was Hogan with five block assists, the match-high, and one service ace.

• Carrigan O'Reilly, the graduate setter, recorded 42 assists, eight digs, four kills and three block assists, while raising her career total for assists to 3,711.

• Senior libero Stevie Wolf posted the team-high in digs with 19 and was followed by junior setter Logan Flaugh with 15. Both junior defensive specialist Lucia Corsaro and redshirt sophomore outside hitter Emma Grace reached double digit digs with 13 apiece.

• Wolf posted the match-high of two service aces with Flaugh, Corsaro, and Hogan dishing up one each.

• The Musketeers totaled 55 kills, 49 assists, 77 digs, 18 block assists, two block solos, and five service aces in the four-set match.
