BIG EAST Conference Releases 2023-24 Men's Basketball League Schedule

Xavier's 2023-24 schedule dates and sites are set.
CINCINNATI - The BIG EAST Conference announced the men's basketball regular season league schedule, completing Xavier's 2023-24 regular season slate. The television information and times will be announced later this month.
Xavier, which finished 15-5 and in second place in the BIG EAST last season, opens its 20-game league slate at St. John's on Wednesday, Dec. 20. Xavier plays its BIG EAST home opener vs. Seton Hall on Saturday, Dec. 23. The final of XU's 20 BIG EAST games is on Saturday, March 9 vs. Marquette at Cintas Center. XU's home slate includes five Wednesday games, three Saturday games and one game each on Friday and Tuesday.
The Musketeers, who reached the 2023 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16, will play 12 BIG EAST regular season games against teams that made 2023 postseason play, including home-and-away tilts against UConn (NCAA Champion), Creighton (NCAA Elite Eight), Marquette (NCAA Second Round), Providence (NCAA), Villanova (NIT) and Seton Hall (NIT).
The 11-game regular season non-conference slate includes eight home games at Cintas Center highlighted by a Friday, Dec. 1 game against Houston, a 2023 NCAA Sweet 16 team, in the BIG EAST/Big 12 Battle and the annual Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout against Cincinnati on Saturday, Dec. 9. In addition, Xavier visits Purdue (NCAA) on Monday, Nov. 13 for a Gavitt Tipoff Games matchup and could face 2023 NCAA runner-up San Diego State or 2023 NCAA Second Round team St. Mary's in the Continental Tire Main Event in Las Vegas in November.
There will be no public exhibition games this season, only a pair of closed scrimmages.

Xavier University Athletics will debut its annual first look at both basketball teams with Musketeer Tip-off presented by Heartland Bank. This free event will be Friday, Oct. 13 at Cintas Center, and will be the only public opportunity to see the Xavier men's or women's basketball teams prior to their November regular season openers.
