Volleyball Defeats No. 11 Creighton for the First Time in Program History

The Musketeers down the Bluejays 3-2
CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball made history with a five set (21-25, 25-21, 17-25, 25-20, 15-10) win over No. 11 Creighton on Saturday night.
The Musketeers move to 9-4 (2-0 BIG EAST) on the season and the Bluejays fall to 10-3 (1-1 BIG EAST).
Carrigan O'Reilly reached 1,000 career digs in the first set of the match. The setter has now reached career milestones in assists and digs, and has six kills remaining until reaching the 500 career kills mark.
The most recent ranked win in Musketeers' history was a five set victory over #14 Cal Poly in 2007. The win over Creighton signifies the highest ranked win in Xavier volleyball history.
The Musketeers also collected the first program victory against the Bluejays.

• Emma Grace led the Musketeers with 15 kills, five service aces, 24 perfect receptions, nine digs, two block solos and one block assist. The redshirt sophomore outside hitter posted career highs in points (22.5), aces (5), and tied her career high in total blocks (3).
• Delaney Hogan, Sarah Stevens, and Anna Taylor led the Musketeers' defense at the net. Hogan, the senior middle blocker, recorded six block assists with Taylor, the redshirt sophomore outside hitter, posting four block assists. Stevens, the redshirt junior middle blocker, managed three block assists and one block solo. Xavier out blocked Creighton 12-6 in the five-set match.
• Senior libero and defensive specialist Stevie Wolf led the defensive efforts in the back court with her 25 digs and 29 perfect receptions. Lucia Corsaro, the junior libero and defensive specialist, fell in behind Wolf with 21 digs and 14 receptions.
• Carrigan O'Reilly, the graduate setter, recorded 48 assists, 12 digs, and six kills, tallying her sixth double-double of the season and raising her career total for assists to 3,812.
• Three Musketeers reached double-digit kills - Grace with 15, Taylor with 12, and Hogan with 11. Both Stevens and graduate outside hitter Brooklyn Cink produced seven kills against the Bluejays.Â
• Stevens snatched the team-high hitting percentage with .353 with Taylor following up at .345.
• Four members of the squad reached double-digit digs, bringing the team's total to 87. Wolf led with her 25 and was followed by Corsaro with 21. O'Reilly finished with 12 and junior setter Logan Flaugh fell in at 10.
• Five Musketeers tallied service aces to total nine, out pacing the Bluejays by five. Grace led with five and was followed by Corsaro's two and Wolf and Flaugh with one apiece.
• Xavier tallied 91 receptions with only four errors while Creighton recorded 83 receptions and nine errors.
• The Musketeers totaled 59 kills, 55 assists, 87 digs, 18 block assists, three block solos, and nine service aces in the five-set match.
