YPSILANTI, Mich. - Xavier women's basketball dropped a 72-60 road game at Eastern Michigan on Sunday afternoon at the Gervin GameAbove Center.
The Musketeers (4-3) led by 20 points (45-25) at halftime, but the Eagles (1-5) stormed back in the second half - outscoring Xavier, 47-15, to earn their first win of the season.
Xavier returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 4 vs Creighton in the BIG EAST opener for both teams. Tip-off is slate for 11 a.m. from Cintas Center.

NOTABLE
- Xavier hit 71.4 percent (10-for-14) of its shot attempts in the first quarter, taking a 23-11 lead over the Eagles after 10 minutes of action. The Musketeers opened the second quarter on 6-for-9 shooting, taking their first 20-point lead (39-19) at the 3:59 mark. Xavier took a 20-point lead (45-25) into the locker room behind a .704 field-goal percentage (19-for-27).
- Meri Kanerva and Aizhanique Mayo each had a game-high 13 points in the first half.
- Xavier was limited to a .241 field-goal percentage (7-for-29) in the second half, while the Eagles posted a .600 field-goal percentage (15-for-25). Eastern Michigan engineered the second-half comeback by outscoring the Musketeers, 47-15, in the second half with eight 3-pointers.
- Loren Christie finished with 17 points on 8-for-12 shooting, her 18th career game in double figures. The forward added five rebounds, three assists and a game-high three blocks.
- Meri Kanerva matched her career high in scoring for the second time in as many games, scoring 17 points on 7-for-15 shooting. The freshman guard added four rebounds, two assists and two steals. She has five double-figure scoring games this season.
- Aizhanique Mayo finished with 15 points on 6-for-14 shooting. The guard added three rebounds and two assists. She now has 11 career double-figure scoring games.
- Irune Orio added five rebounds, two assists and two points. Petra Oborilova finished with five points, four rebounds and a team-high four assists.
- Xavier finished the game with a .464 field-goal percentage (26-for-56) and went 7-for-22 from behind the arc. The Musketeers were also 1-for-2 from the foul line.
- Xavier won the battle on the glass, 29-28, and scored 20 more points in the paint (36-16) than the Eagles. Xavier also scored 10 more bench points (17-7).
- Eastern Michigan held a 17-10 advantage in fastbreak points and scored 12 more points off of turnovers (20-8) than Xavier. The Eagles also held a 9-8 advantage in second-chance points.
- The Eagles finished the game with a .460 field-goal percentage (23-for-50) and went 13-for-30 from behind the arc. Eastern Michigan was also 13-for-14 from the foul line.
