WASHINGTON, D.C. - Xavier dropped a 64-41 BIG EAST contest at Georgetown on Monday night at McDonough Arena.
The Musketeers move to 5-8 (0-2 BIG EAST), while the Hoyas improve to 8-5 (1-1 BIG EAST).
Xavier continues BIG EAST action on Thursday, Jan. 2 vs DePaul. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. from Cintas Center.

NOTABLE
- The opening half had four lead changes and one tie. Xavier took its largest lead of the half, 22-20, on a Petra Oborilova three pointer with 2:44 on the clock. Georgetown closed the stanza on a 5-0 run, taking a three-point lead (25-22) into the locker room.
- Daniela López led the Musketeers with six points at the break, while Tae'lor Purvis led the squad on the glass with four rebounds. Xavier held an 8-2 advantage in points off of turnovers in the first half and limited the Hoyas to a .235 field-goal percentage (8-for-34).
- Xavier opened the second half on a 9-2 run, taking its largest lead of the game, 31-27, with 4:57 on the clock. The Hoyas outscored the Musketeers, 14-6, to end the frame - taking a four-point lead (41-37).
- Georgetown outscored Xavier, 23-4, in the final quarter behind a .636 field-goal percentage (7-for-11) to pull away for the 23-point victory.
- Loren Christie led Xavier with 12 points on 6-for-11 shooting. She added three rebounds, one block and one assist. She now has 22 career double-figure scoring games.
- Daniela López added 10 points on 4-for-9 shooting in 21 minutes of action off the bench. She added three rebounds and an assist. The sophomore guard has 11 career double-figure scoring games.
- Tae'lor Purvis added eight points and a team-high six rebounds. Petra Oborilova finished with six points, four rebounds and two assists.
- Meri Kanerva dished out a game-high six assists (also a career high). The freshman guard added two points, four rebounds and one steal.
- The Musketeers posted a .354 field-goal percentage (17-for-48) and went 5-for-20 from behind the arc. Xavier was also 2-for-2 from the foul line.
- Georgetown scored two more points off of turnovers (14-12) than Xavier and held a 17-5 advantage in second-chance points. The Hoyas also won the battle on the glass, 41-24.
- Xavier scored six more bench points (13-7) than the Hoyas. Georgetown held a 15-0 advantage in fastbreak points and scored 10 more points in the paint (30-20).
- Georgetown posted a .382 field-goal percentage (21-for-55) and went 6-for-20 from behind the arc. The Hoyas were also 16-for-19 from the foul line.
