Ryan Conwell led six Xavier players in double figures with 22 points
CINCINNATI - Ryan Conwell led six Musketeers in double figures on Tuesday as Xavier picked up its first BIG EAST win of the season, 94-72, over Seton Hall at Cintas Center.
Xavier improved to 9-5 (1-2 BIG EAST), while the Pirates dropped to 5-9 (0-3 BIG EAST).
Xavier continues BIG EAST action on Friday, Jan. 3 at Georgetown. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m. ET from Capital One Arena with the game being aired nationally on CBS Sports Network.

NOTABLE
- Seton Hall scored five straight points to open the game before the Musketeers responded with a 16-0 run, taking an 11-point lead with 13:07 on the clock. The 16-0 run is the largest of the 2024-25 season for the Musketeers.
- Xavier never relinquished its lead and led by as many as 15 points (40-25) with 2:27 left in the half. The Musketeers led by double figures for the remainder of the half and took a 13-point advantage into the locker room on a Ryan Conwell floater in the lane as time expired.
- Ryan Conwell led all scorers with 18 points at the break on 6-for-10 shooting. The Musketeers hit 52.2 percent (12-for-23) of their shot attempts.
- The Musketeers hit 62.5 percent (15-for-24) of their shot attempts in the second half and went 16-for-20 from the foul, outscoring Seton Hall, 50-41, to pull away for the 22-point victory. Xavier led by as many as 28 points (83-55) with 6:16 left in the game.
- Ryan Conwell led six Musketeers in double figures with a game-high 22 points on 7-for-12 shooting. Marcus Foster (14), Jerome Hunter (12), Dailyn Swain (13), John Hugley IV (11) and Dante Maddox Jr. (14) all reached double figures.
- Xavier had six players score in double figures for the second time this season. The Musketeers also had six players score in double figures on Nov. 12 vs Jackson State (W, 94-57).
- Seton Hall won the battle on the glass, 33-30. Marcus Foster led Xavier with six rebounds, while John Hugley IV and Dailyn Swain each added five.
- Xavier posted a .574 field-goal percentage (27-for-47) and went 10-for-21 from behind the arc. The Musketeers were also 30-for-40 from the foul line. Xavier has hit over 50 percent of its shot attempts six times this season. The Musketeers have also made 10 or more three pointers in a game seven times this year.
- Xavier held an 18-12 advantage in points off of turnovers and scored 11 more fastbreak points (20-9) than the Pirates. Both teams scored 13 second-chance points.
- Xavier scored four more points in the paint than Seton Hall. The Pirares scored six more bench points (33-27) than the Musketeers.
- Xavier dished out 20 assists vs the Pirates, the sixth game of the season the Musketeers have posted 20 or more assists.
- Dante Maddox Jr. and Dayvion McKnight both dished out a team-high six assists. McKnight added six points.
- Xavier recorded a season-high nine blocks, paced by Jerome Hunter who had game-high four blocks. The nine blocks are the most by a Xavier team since Dec. 16, 2023 vs Winthrop (12 blocks in a 75-59 win at Cintas Center).
- Seton Hall was limited to a .377 field-goal percentage (23-for-61) and went 6-for-13 from behind the arc. The Pirates were also 20-for-24 from the foul line.
- Xavier has scored 90 or more points in a game four times this season.
