Musketeers Use Strong Second Half to Upend DePaul, 91-58

CINCINNATI - Quincy Olivari scored a game-high 32 points on Wednesday night, leading the Musketeers to a 91-58 win over DePaul at Cintas Center.
The Musketeers improved to 14-14 (8-9 BIG EAST), while the Blue Demons dropped to 3-25 (0-17 BIG EAST).
Xavier led from start to finish and took a four-point lead into the break (33-29). The Musketeers opened the second half on a 21-5 run behind 6-for-8 shooting, taking their first 20-point advantage of the game (54-34).
The Musketeers had a .677 field-goal percentage (21-for-31) in the second half, outscoring the Blue Demons, 58-29. Xavier led by as many as 36 points (83-47) with 4:32 left in regulation. Xavier has now won four straight games over DePaul.

NOTABLES
- Quincy Olivari scored a game-high 32 points on 11-for-16 shooting with six 3-pointers. The senior guard scored 28 points in the second half on 10-for-11 shooting. He added five rebounds, four assists and one steal. Olivari has scored 30 or more points in a game three times this season.
- Quincy Olivari eclipsed the 2,000-career scoring mark. He now has 2,030 career points (scored 1,289 at Rice from 2019-23).
- Trey Green added 13 points on 5-for-10 shooting in 22 minutes of action off the bench.
- Dayvion McKnight chipped in 13 points on 5-for-10 shooting. The guard added a game-high eight assist to go along with five rebounds and one steal. He now has six games this season with eight or more assists.
- Desmond Claude rounded out the double-figure scorers with 11 points on 5-for-10 shooting. He added two rebounds, two assists and two steals.
- Dailyn Swain added eight points on 4-for-4 shooting in 23 minutes of action off the bench. The freshman pulled down a game-high six rebounds and recorded a game-high three steals.
- Xavier finished the game with a .522 field-goal percentage (35-for-67) and went 11-for-21 from behind the arc. The Musketeers were also 10-for-14 from the foul line. Xavier now has seven games on the year with a .500 field-goal percentage or higher and five games with 10 or more made three pointers.
- Xavier also eclipsed the 90-point mark for the fourth time this season. The last time the Musketeers scored 90 or more points was on Jan. 19 vs Georgetown.
- Xavier forced 20 DePaul turnovers, converting the miscues into 34 points. The Musketeers also held a 17-7 advantage in fastbreak points and scored 14 more points in the paint (40-26). The Musketeers also won the battle on the glass, 35-33.
