Quincy Olivari, Dailyn Swain And Trey Green Earn Postseason BIG EAST Honors

Olivari leads the BIG EAST in scoring and 3-point field goals per game.
CINCINNATI --- The BIG EAST Conference announced today that three Xavier student-athletes have earned postseason All-BIG EAST honors, graduate student Quincy Olivari as BIG EAST Honorable Mention and two XU freshmen on the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team, Dailyn Swain and Trey Green. The league's head coaches select the all-conference squads and were not permitted to vote for their own players.
Olivari, who is coming off a 32-point game vs. Marquette on Saturday, leads the BIG EAST in scoring at 19.5 ppg. Olivari leads the league and is 17th in the nation in 3-point field goals at 3.2 per game and is second in the league and ninth in the nation in 3-point percentage at .432. Olivari enters the BIG EAST Tournament with 2,091 career points, including his time at Rice and Xavier.
Swain led all of the six Xavier freshmen in minutes played at 18.9 per game before having his season shut down on March 4 by an appendectomy. Swain is tied for third on the team in steals at 1.03 spg. He tied his career high for rebounds with six in two of his last three games, including at Marquette on Feb. 25 and vs. DePaul on Feb. 28.
Green, who led Xavier with a game-high and career-high 23 points in the win at Providence on Jan. 13 on the strength of a career-high five 3-pointers, has hit at least one 3-pointer in 22 games, including 15 BIG EAST games. He has hit at least two 3-pointers in eight BIG EAST games and 10 games overall.
No. 9 seed Xavier will face No. 8 seed Butler in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament on Wednesday, March 13 at 4 p.m. at Madison Square Garden. The winner of that game plays No. 1 seed UConn on Thursday at noon.
